Being published in “The Sacred Feminine”!

I am excited to announce that one of my poems is being published in “The Sacred Feminine” Volume II by Open Skies Press. The book is edited by Courtney Glover. It contains an array of poetry by female poets from around the world, many who I already read and admire on Instagram.

My poem: Lawnflower

My poem is titled “Lawnflower” and uses extended metaphor to share a message of perseverance and overlooked potential.

Although nature metaphors feature prominently in my writing, this poem is a little different. I trialled a more direct tone and first person approach to better convey the message. I was also more lenient with the metre and line length, something I recently received feedback on from judges and fellow poets.

Being published in “The Sacred Feminine” was an important step in encouraging me to further develop my poetry writing style and not be afraid of sharing my more “experimental” pieces.

If you read it, I’d love to know your thoughts in the comments below!
